Info and Resources for Getting Married in Hawaii
Marriage License Info
Step 1: You can apply for a marriage license online ($65 total fee) State of Hawaii Marriage License application online.
Step 2: You and your intended spouse will need to meet with a license agent to obtain the actual marriage license. He or she will need to see identification and other relevant paperwork. If previously married, proof of original divorce decree or death certificate needs to be presented to the marriage agent by the applicant if the divorce or death was final within 30 days of applying for a marriage license.
List of license agents can be found here: http://health.hawaii.gov/vitalrecords/license-agents/
Some are available on the weekends and for last minute appointments but if you have set a date for your wedding be sure you have met with a license agent before that date.
Pro-Tip: If you will be calling a license agent from a non-US or Canada phone number you might want to contact them by email instead. Sherilynn Takushi takes online appointments and has an email contact on her website. http://www.hawaiimarriagelicenseinfo.com/
Step 3: Get married by a licensed Hawaii wedding officiant like myself. We will complete the license form online, keeping a signed paper copy of the license for our record. You will receive a certified copy of your marriage certificate in the mail in a few weeks.
