Modern Hawaii Wedding Ceremony by Rev Julienne Givot

Below is an example of one of my more modern ceremonies with aloha.  My ceremonies are all customizable so that it’s just right for your relationship. We can add rituals, readings or ways your friends and family can participate into the ceremony.

🌺Modern Hawaii Wedding Ceremony by Rev Julienne Givot🌴

Greeting

Aloha _____ , Aloha ____. It’s my honor to be here in this beautiful place to preside over this ceremony as the two of you bind your lives together and walk forward into married life. There is no place I’d rather be, no other people I’d rather be with. Today is a very special day that will never come again and it’s worthy of celebrating and remembering always.

Optional opening prayer, lei excchange, reading or chant

Family and friends: ________ and _________ would like to thank you for your love and support – and for coming all this way to be here now. You have, in one way or another, been an important part of bringing them together and they are grateful to have you in their lives.

In Hawaii we believe in living with an Aloha spirit. You will hear aloha as both hello and goodbye – but it’s so much more than that. It’s recognition of sacred presence and connection. The Ha part of alo-ha is breath of life. We breathe together. Aloha means love & respect. It’s a greeting as well as a blessing.

Aloha is a beautiful way to see your union in marriage. (couple faces each other and holds hands)

________ and _________ take a moment to feel your feet on the earth, the breeze on your skin, take a deep breath together. You are here in this moment because of the most powerful force we know – LOVE.

Bring to mind what it took to get you here today. It was thousands of important but also mundane moments. This includes the years before you met, wondering when it would be you would finally meet THE ONE. And so at last, you caught each other’s eye and part of you knew – this is IT! Since then, you’ve shared happy times, hard days, inside jokes, simple joys and tough challenges. Millions of breaths taken together. And at the end of each day, you reached for the hand of the other and said YES, you are THE ONE, I want all of this with you.

You’re about to make promises to each other that you intend to keep. You’re going to vow to take care of each other, to stand up for one another, and find happiness in the other. At the heart of all these promises you are vowing to be there. You’re teaming up and saying to the other, “Every experience I am going to have, I want you to be a part of.”

_________ and ________ Are you ready, willing and able to make this lifelong commitment to each other and your relationship.

Couple: We do / Yes / Sure / Cheeehoo!

You have chosen to exchange rings as gifts to each other. By their very shape they are symbols of eternal unity without beginning or end.
